Shillong is all set to host the 4th edition of its India International Cherry Blossom festival from November 13 to November 16, 2019. Held in November, each year, the festival celebrates the Himalayan Cherry Blossoms in full bloom covering the entire valley. What a spectacular sight it would be!
Apart from witnessing the captivating pink cherry blossom trees span across the east and west Khasi Hills, visitors will also get a chance to be a part of a bunch of other events such as musical programmes, a beauty pageant and stalls showcasing the cuisine, wine, arts & crafts of the region.
Other entertainment will include traditional folk music, dance performances by natives of North East India, bicycle rallies, storytelling sessions and taekwondo demonstrations. For photography enthusiasts, this year, you can also participate in a cherry blossom photography competition.
How to Reach Shillong?
Fly to Guwahati and from there, it is a 3 hrs drive to Shillong. Plz keep in mind that the bylanes in the town are steep and narrow with frequent traffic jams.
